Pouria A. Mistani is a highly skilled Sr Simulation/AI Software Engineer with over 2.6 years of relevant experience. He has a strong background in developing mathematical models for physical systems and HPC simulation software to solve for their behaviors across scales. Pouria operates at the interface of mathematics, physics, and software engineering. Throughout his career, Pouria has applied advanced computational techniques to simulate and model several complex physical systems, including galaxy clusters, cell aggregates, atomic islands, and instabilities of high concentration protein formulations. He has also worked on parametrization of molecular dynamics force fields and using AI for accelerating molecular dynamics simulations. Currently, Pouria is working as a Sr. Software Engineer, AI & HPC at NVIDIA. He is leading NVIDIA Modulus to build AI-accelerated multiscale biophysical simulations for drug discovery and formulation. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Investigator, Scientific Computing at Roivant Discovery, where he developed, implemented, and verified bond charge increment algorithms for transferable charge fitting protocols in the force field parameterization engine. He also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Merck Research Laboratories (MRL), where he developed computational and statistical tools to predict and mitigate physical instability challenges in high concentration protein-based formulations. Pouria has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering/Computational Science and Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He also holds a Master's degree in Physics from the University of California, Riverside, and Bachelor's degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Physics from Sharif University of Technology.
